🎯 AIM
The Aim of B&Q Online Tutorials
B&Q Online Tutorials is dedicated to empowering learners from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing accessible, high-quality education through modern technology. We believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we offer one of the most affordable ways to prepare effectively for Grade 12 examinations.
Our approach goes beyond traditional teaching — we focus on assisting learners in their academic journey. We simplify complex concepts and present them in a clear, easy-to-understand manner, allowing each learner to grasp content at their own pace and according to their individual learning style.
We identify and bridge knowledge gaps by building on what learners have already covered in school. Through carefully designed notes, customized question papers, and structured guidance, we support learners step by step — starting from their current level of understanding and gradually preparing them to confidently tackle more challenging problems.
What sets us apart is our commitment to personalized learning. We tailor questions to match each learner's level, ensuring steady progress and deeper understanding.
Our team consists of highly capable and experienced tutors who excel academically, particularly at the matric level, and are passionate about helping learners achieve their full potential.
At B&Q Online Tutorials, we don't just teach — we guide, support, and inspire success.
👨🏫 TUTORS
Qiniso Mtshali (Mathematics Tutor)
🌟 Meet our best tutors and proud Co-Founders 🌟
Qiniso Mtshali was born and raised in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, in the disadvantaged community of Mndozo Village (Osizweni Section). He completed his matric at Izazi High School, a Quintile 3 school, where resources were limited but academic excellence remained a priority.
Currently in his second year of Medicine at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Qiniso is a passionate young leader committed to transforming lives through education. He strongly believes in the power of mathematics as a tool for solving real-life problems. To him, problem-solving is not a talent, but a skill developed through continuous practice and challenges.
Q. Mtshali encourages learners to train their minds early, as consistent exposure to problem-solving strengthens critical thinking. He often compares mathematics to magic tricks — explaining that just as magicians use techniques to create the illusion of impossibility, mathematics also has "tricks" that, once understood, make complex problems simple. His goal is to reveal these "tricks" to learners, empowering them to approach mathematics with confidence and skill.
Beyond academics, Q. Mtshali is a compassionate individual who aspires to become one of South Africa's leading surgeons. He aims to combine his passion for healthcare with his love for problem-solving, while inspiring young minds to believe in their abilities.
Bonga Sibeko (Life Sciences Tutor and Physical Sciences Tutor)
B. Sibeko was born in a small village near Newcastle called Utrecht, where he completed his early schooling. Due to limited educational resources, he did not initially have the opportunity to build a strong academic foundation. However, this challenge shaped his determination and inspired him to help others from similar backgrounds.
Driven by his passion for learning and teaching, B. Sibeko began supporting fellow learners at a young age, which sparked his deep love for education. He later moved to Newcastle, where he gained better access to educational opportunities. Although it took time to adjust and improve, his dedication paid off, and he excelled by the end of his high school journey. Bonga Sibeko is also a proud former learner of Izazi Secondary School, where he received strong academic training that shaped his educational journey. As a dedicated citizen of Newcastle, specifically from Mndozo Village in Osizweni, he remains deeply connected to his roots and is passionate about giving back to his community through education.
B. Sibeko's current pursuit of medicine at the University of Cape Town has given him the opportunity to specialize in Life Sciences tutoring, where he has become one of the best in guiding learners through complex biological concepts.
Teaching is more than just a role for Bonga; it is his greatest passion. He has developed effective strategies over the years to simplify learning and make it engaging. While he aspires to become a leading medical scientist, he is equally committed to educating and inspiring young minds to explore the world of science.

Khulekan Siyanda Theo Mazibuko

He was also recognised by the programme for building the website that makes it easy for learners across the country to access B&Q Online Classes.
🏫 In-Person Classes
Our Life Sciences tutor recently had the opportunity to conduct in-person classes at one of the schools in his home village near Newcastle during the winter holidays. It was a privilege to help Grade 12 learners strengthen their understanding and prepare for their examinations.
At B&Q Online Tutoring Academy, we don't only teach online. During school holidays, we also offer in-person lessons in all the subjects we teach whenever schools around Newcastle invite our tutors.
We are committed to making quality education accessible, whether it's online or face-to-face.

📝 APPLY
📢 APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL GRADE 12 LEARNERS
Applications are open to all Grade 12 learners at the beginning of each academic year. We will open on the Monday of the second week of January. At this time, all learners are eligible to apply. Please note: Late applications submitted during the middle of the year are subject to minimum requirements. Classes start as soon as schools reopen in January. We open together with schools.
📋 APPLICATION PERIODS & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (SUMMARY)
1. When Can You Apply
Term 1 - Start of Academic Year: Open to all Grade 12 learners. No minimum requirements. Term 2, 3, and 4: Minimum academic requirements apply. Closing Date: First week of Term 4. Applications after this will not be considered. Note: We accept mid-year applications because we have already covered a lot of work. The minimum requirements ensure that learners who join later can match the pace of the class and succeed in the programme.
2. Minimum Academic Requirements
Term 2
- Mathematics: 30% (Level 2) or higher
- Life Sciences: 30% (Level 2) or higher
- Physical Sciences: 40% (Level 3) or higher
Term 3

3. Why We Have Entry Requirements
Our programme builds on knowledge from earlier in the year. Learners who join from Term 2 onwards have less time to catch up. The minimum requirements help ensure that every learner joining later already has the foundation needed to benefit from the programme and keep up with the rest of the class. Our goal is to give every learner the best opportunity to succeed while maintaining the quality of our training.
